You are free to sample the claim with non-motorized equipment. For directions via google maps to the upstream boundary of the claim CLICK HERE You will see a bridge that crosses the creek and tributary entering the creek. The claim starts where the tributary enters the creek and extends about 1700′ downstream. It is recommended that you use the coordinates above to locate the claim boundaries.

How is the Gold?- Pans ranged from 0-20 colors, with most pans in the 4-10 color range. The gold has ranged from fish scale sized flakes down. There are some nice garnets as well.

Upper Rock Creek is a tributary of the Middle Coquille River and is located just North of the 12 mile Creek Mining District. Upper Rock Creek is more like a small river than a creek and provides enough water year around for any sized dredge. The claim is located about 40 Minutes outside of Winston and is in Coos County, near the Douglas County line.

The claim is accessible year around via a rarely used 2wd road. There is some small roadside camping on the claim itself and there are many camping options within a 5 minute radius. The upstream portion of the claim offers easy roadside access and the downstream portion is about 100-200 feet from the road. This layout offers both easy access and privacy.

This is a mining claim and a mining claim only. You do not own the land. You can mine and camp on the claim. This is not a homestead or a place to live. Upon completed payment you will receive A properly filed Quit Claim Deed transferring ownership of the claim to you. This document will be notarized, recorded at the county courthouse, recorded with the BLM, and mailed to you. This process can take between 15-45 days. However, you will have access to the claim immediately. We cover all fees and do all of the work associated in transferring the claim over to you. The claim is yours forever as long as you pay a yearly $200 fee to the BLM.
